1. On 08.01.2024, the following order was passed by this Court:-

"The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to issue him passport.

Counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that petitioner has applied for passport. The application was filed on 22.06.2022, however, till date no order has been passed. The petitioner was implicated in FIR No. 123 dated 29.12.2014, under Sections 382, 379, 413, 401 of IPC, registered at Police Station Mehna, District Moga. The petitioner vide judgment dated 01.05.2018 was acquitted. The complainant has filed CRM-A-1949 of 2019 before this Court against the judgment of acquittal. The petitioner has filed representation dated 04.12.2023

before passport authority, however, respondents have not paid heed to said representation.

Notice of motion, returnable for 16.01.2024. Mr. Shivendra Pal, Central Government Counsel for Union of India, who on advance notice is present in Court, accepts notice and waives service. He seeks time to get instructions.

To be shown in the urgent list."

2. Counsel for Union of India submits that passport authority

would look into representation dated 04.12.2023 of the petitioner and pass

an appropriate order within six weeks from today.

3. In the wake of statement of counsel for Union of India, the

petition stands disposed of.
