1. The short controversy involved in the present case pertains to payment of

interest on the amount of Contributory Pension Scheme Fund which had

released to the petitioners pursuant to death of their husbands.

2. Notice of motion.

3. On the asking of the Court Mr. Inderpreet Singh Kang, AAG, Punjab, who is

present in Court accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

4. Learned State counsel has fairly submitted that the case of the petitioners

would be covered by a judgment of this Court rendered in CWP-35361-2019

titled as Constable Bikramjit Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab and

MOHAN SINGH 2023.07.06 19:11 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment CWP-12258-2023 (O&M) (2) 2023:PHHC:084787

others (Annexure P-4) and that the case of the petitioner shall be decided in

the shortest possible time in light of the dictum of the said judgment.

5. In view of the aforesaid submission made by learned State counsel, the

instant petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.2-The

Director General of Police, Punjab Police Headquarter, Chandigarh to

consider legal notice dated 22.12.2022 (Annexure P-5) and to decide the

same in light of ratio of judgment of this Court in CWP-35361-2019 titled as

Constable Bikramjit Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab and others

expeditiously preferably within a period of four weeks from today.

6. A copy of this order along with copy of legal notice dated 22.12.2022

(Annexure P-5) be sent to No.2-The Director General of Police, Punjab

Police Headquarter, Chandigarh for necessary compliance.
