1. Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that after

filing of the present petition, petitioner No.2 has been assaulted by the family of petitioner No.1 and after taking treatment from a hospital in Panchkula, the petitioners are hiding in Chandigarh, as the respondents have already approached the Punjab Police at Mohali. He thus, prays for withdrawal of the present petition with liberty to approach the Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh to seek appropriate protection of life and liberty of the petitioners.

2. Without commenting upon the merits, the present petition is dismissed as withdrawn with the aforesaid liberty.

3. It is made clear that filing or pendency of this petition or any

order/direction passed in this petition shall not be an alibi or defence to the
