These petition(s) have been filed inter alia seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to promote the petitioner(s) as Headmasters from the date their juniors were promoted, with all consequential benefits.

2. As per facts apparent on record, the petitioner(s), who are working as Hindi/Sanskrit Teachers, sought promotion as Headmasters High School on the basis of applicable service rules, i.e., the Haryana State Education (School and Inspection Cadre) Group B Service Rules, 1998 (for short '1998 Rules), whereunder 7% posts of Headmasters were to be filled up by promotion from Hindi Teachers, and 7% from Sanskrit teachers. The said Rules have now been repealed and replaced by the Haryana State Education School Cadre (Group B) Service Rules, 2012, notified on 11.04.2012. As per Rule 9(i)(b) thereof, the channel for promotion as Headmaster High School is 100% by promotion from amongst Elementary

School Headmasters/TGTs.

3. With the repeal of 1998 Rules, the claim for promotion based thereupon, as raised in the instant petition(s), does not survive. The

petition(s) are, accordingly, dismissed.
