Order No. 21.10.2024 01. This matter is taken up through Hybrid
arrangement (video conferencing/physical mode).
The Office note indicates that there is delay of five hundred fifty six days in filing this jail criminal appeal.
After hearing the learned counsel for the State and since it is a case where the appellant has been sentenced to life imprisonment, we are inclined to condone the delay in filing the jail criminal appeal.

Call for the trial Court records. Ms. Sougat Dash, Advocate is appointed as an
Advocate for the appellant.
Registry is directed to intimate the appellant about the engagement of the counsel.
Let a copy of the prisoner's petition as well as the copy of the impugned judgment be provided to the learned counsel for the State.
After receipt of the trial Court records, paper books shall be prepared and the matter will be listed for hearing indicating the name of Mr. Sougat Dash, learned counsel for the appellant in the cause list as well as at the top of the brief.
