(Judgment of the Court was made by R.SUBRAMANIAN, J.)

Challenge in the appeal is to the order of the writ Court upholding the

orders of cancellation of the appointment of the petitioners. The orders

cancelling the appointments were made consequent upon the contempt

proceedings that were initiated against the Department for not having

followed the 2% reservation for the in-service ministerial staff in

W.P.No.32612 of 2024 and Contempt Petition No.4018 of 2024.

communication dated 15.07.2025 addressed to the Additional Advocate

General stated that after implementing the reservation for the in-service

ministerial staff, who are entitled to be considered for appointment as

Teachers as per G.O.Ms.No.175 dated 19.07.2007, the petitioners in the writ

petition, whose names have been sponsored by the Teachers Recruitment

Board will be considered for appointment. It is stated that the

Commissionerate requires two months time to complete the process.

3. Recording the same, this Writ Appeal is disposed of. No costs.

two months, during which, the appellants have served in the Department

will be taken into account as proper service for the purpose of monetary

benefits at the time of retirement.
