                              JUDGMENT

The above Writ Petition (C) is filed with the following

prayers:

" i. To issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction, directing the respondents to restore the petitioner's name in the electoral roll of Ward No.12 of Edavanna Grama Panchayat (Part I) in Malappuram District forthwith.

ii. To issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction, directing the 4th respondent to consider and pass orders on Exhibit.P10 appeal/representation within a time limit to be prescribed by this Hon'ble Court. iii. To declare that the deletion of petitioner's name from the electoral roll of ward No.12 of Edavanna Grama Panchayat (Part I) as reflected in Exhibit.P9 list is illegal, arbitrary and unconstitutional."

2. The main prayer in this Writ Petition is to restore the

petitioner's name in the electoral roll of Ward No.12 of Edavanna

Grama Panchayat in Malappuram District. The General Election

2025 for Local Bodies was notified long back. The final voters' list

was published long back. Now, the election days are scheduled on 2025:KER:94458 WP(C) NO.45847 OF 2025

the 9 th and 11 th of this month. At this distance of time, this Court

cannot interfere with the electoral roll. Moreover, Section 24(3) of

the Panchayat Raj Act states that once the last date for filing

nominations is over, the electoral roll stands freezed. In such

circumstances, this Court cannot pass any orders in this Writ

Petition. But the contentions raised by the petitioner are left open.

With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
