                             JUDGMENT

(Dated this the 21st day of December 2023

The petitioner is a contesting candidate in the

election to the managing committee of Vallamkulam Milk

Producers Co-operative Society (APCOS) PT 2(D), which

is scheduled to be held on 27.12.2023.

2. The petitioner apprehends that there are chance of

untoward incidents causing loss of life during the election.

Accordingly, the petitioner sought for police protection

before the 3rd respondent, vide Ext.P2, so as to prevent any

obstruction to the voters of the society while entering to

polling station and casting their votes. But no action is

taken on the said representation. Hence, this Writ

Petition.

3. The Government pleader submits that proper steps

are being taken to deploy sufficient police to see that the

election is being conducted in a peaceful manner.

4. Taking into consideration the submission made by

the learned Government Pleader, the Writ Petition is

disposed of with a direction to respondent Nos.1 to 3 to

provide effective and meaningful protection for the

peaceful conduct of the election of Vallamkulam Milk

Producers Co-operative Society (APCOS) PT 2(D) to be

held on 27.12.2023 at the office of the society, till the

election process is completed.
