                             JUDGMENT

The writ petition has been filed on behalf of a

mentally retarded person, by his cousin brother, seeking grant of scholarship earmarked under a

special scheme by the first respondent Municipality

for mentally retarded persons.

2. According to the petitioner, scholarship was

granted to the mentally retarded person for the

period 2019-2020. Thereafter though an application

was submitted during the period 2021, no action was

taken on the same.

3. The learned Standing Counsel for the

Municipality, on instructions, has filed a

statement wherein it has been stated that, no

proper application was received in the Municipality

from the petitioner. It is stated that the

application is to be submitted through the I.C.D.S

Supervisor or Anganvadi to the Municipality. It is

further stated that the implementing officer of the W. P. (C) No.12708 of 2021

project is the I.C.D.S Supervisor. It is affirmed

that if proper application is made, necessary steps

will be taken at the end of the Municipality.

4. In view of the above, the writ petition is

disposed of directing the petitioner to submit a

proper application as pointed out by the

respondent, for appropriate action thereon. If such

an application is received the Municipality shall

give utmost priority and take necessary steps

thereon immediately.

Writ petition is disposed of as above.
