         Writ Petition (civil) praying inter alia that in the circumstances stated in the aﬃdavit
ﬁled along with the WP(C) the High Court be pleased to direct the 1st Respondent to allow the
authorized representative of the Petitioner's husband to sign Exhibit P4 application for
registration of marriage under the provisions of the Kerala Registration of
Marriages(Common) Rules, 2008 and thereupon complete the formalities for registration of
the marriage of the Petitioner after securing the presence of her husband through video
conferencing and issue marriage certiﬁcate to the Petitioner within a time limit to be
prescribed by this Honourable Court pending disposal of the writ petition.


         This petition coming on for admission upon perusing the petition and the aﬃdavit ﬁled
in support of WP(C) and upon hearing the arguments of M/S.K.T.SHYAMKUMAR, HARISH
R. MENON & A.G.PRASANTH, Advocates for the petitioner, and of SRI. P.T.JOSE,
STANDING COUNSEL for R1, the court passed the following:

For information purpose only The petitioner seeks a direction to the 1 st respondent to allow the

authorised representative of the petitioner's husband to sign Exhibit P4

application for registration of marriage under the provisions of the Kerala

Registration of Marriages (Common) Rules, 2008 and thereupon

complete the formalities for registration of the marriage of the petitioner,

since the petitioner's husband, who is abroad, cannot be present in

person. The counsel for the petitioner places reliance on the judgments

of this Court produced as Exhibits P5 and P6, which have been issued in

similar circumstances. The petitioner prays for identical reliefs in this writ

petition. The standing counsel for the 2nd respondent Panchayat shall

get instructions from the Panchayat as to whether the statement made

by the petitioner regarding her marriage with Sri Geo Mampilly is correct.
