CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RONGON MUKHOPADHYAY

---

For the Petitioner : Mr. Sanjeev Thakur, Adv. For the O.P. : Mr. Rakesh Kr. Sinha, A.P.P.

---

03/19.03.2026 Heard Mr. Sanjeev Thakur, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P. The petitioner is an accused in connection with Jasidih P.S. Case No. 103/2025.

The grand daughter of the informant, who was married with the petitioner was found dead in unnatural circumstances at her matrimonial house.

Submission has been advanced by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the room in which the suicide was committed was locked from inside. It has further been submitted that there was some attrition in the relationship between the petitioner and the deceased which was resolved in the Panchayat. Learned counsel further submits that there was no demand of dowry and the cause of death has been opined to be asphyxia due to hanging.

Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner.

It appears that some abrasions and swelling were found on the person of the deceased as per the post-mortem report, though the cause of death has been opined to be asphyxia due to hanging. It also appears that immediately prior to death of the deceased, a demand was also made which further strengthens the case of the prosecution. Consequent to the above, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. The same is hereby rejected at this stage.

This application stands rejected.
