18-01-2022 The matter is taken up through video conferencing.

Heard Mr. D Das, learned Advocate General, Mizoram for the applicants. Also heard Mr. N Sharma, learned counsel for the respondents.

This application has been filed by the applicant State of Mizoram for condoning the delay of 900 days in filing the appeal against the judgment and order of the learned Single Judge dated 08.06.2017 passed in WP(C) No.188/2016 (Aizawl Bench). The respondents have filed their objection in the delay condonation application.

Undoubtedly there is a huge delay of 900 days in filing the accompanying appeal. However, purely in the interest of justice and on consideration of the importance of the matter, as the issue before this Court is regarding grant of reservation to the Gorkha community as member of the other backward community in Mizoram, we condone the delay in filing the appeal.

The interlocutory application is allowed.
