Adjournment prayer has been made on behalf of Mr. PJ Saikia, learned counsel for the petitioner due to personal difficulties.

Ms. A Talukdar, learned counsel for the respondents, on the other hand, submits that the writ petition has to be dismissed as similar writ petitions numbering more than 147 writ petitions have been dismissed, one of them being WP(C) No. 720/2001 vide order dated 24.05.2004. She also submits that this case has to be dismissed in view of the judgment of the Apex Court in the case of Employees State Insurance Corporation vs. Dr. Vinay Kumar, in Civil Appeal No. 4150/2022 which was decided on 18.05.2022.

The matter pertains to recruitment to the post of Assam Police Constables Page No.# 3/3

pursuant to the advertisement dated 17.01.2000.
