                                 JUDGMENT

G. P. MITTAL, J. (ORAL)

1. The Appellants seek enhancement of compensation of ` 5,84,232/- awarded for the death of Pradeep, who died in a motor accident, which took place on 03.09.2009. Learned counsel for the Appellant submits that no compensation was awarded by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal towards loss of love and affection. No other ground is raised. The Appeal must succeed.

2. In the latest judgment of Supreme Court Sunil Sharma & Ors. v.

Bachitar Singh & Ors., (2011) 11 SCC 425 a sum of ` 25,000/- was awarded towards loss of love and affection. I follow the

same. The Appellant shall be entitled to interest @ 7.5% per annum on the amount of ` 25,000/- from the date of filing of the objection till the date of payment. This amount shall be payable to Appellant No.2 Smt. Premwati, who is the deceased's mother. The Insurance Company is directed to deposit the enhanced amount within 30 days with the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, which shall be released to the Appellant forthwith.

3. The Appeal is allowed in above terms.
