The applicant was convicted for the offence punishable under Section 498A of the Indian Penal Code on the complaint lodged by his wife - Smt. Subhashri Sahu, who is present today in the Court.
The applicant was convicted by the learned trial Court and the order of conviction and sentence recorded by the learned trial Court was affirmed by the learned Sessions Court.
The instant criminal revision is pending before this Court against the judgment of conviction and sentence recorded by the two Courts below.
The applicant/ husband - Mr. Pradeep Kumar Samal and Smt. Subhashri Sahu/ wife have moved a joint application seeking permission of this Court to enter into compromise in the criminal case.
Considering the facts and submissions made in the application that they have settled their dispute and they do not want to prosecute this case furthermore, permission is granted.
Let both the parties appear before the Registrar Judicial for recording their statements today itself.
List this matter after two weeks.
There is no need for the parties to appear before this Court on the next date of hearing.
