The Court, having regard to the sensitivity of the

issue involved in this Petition, had directed Respondent No.2 to

file its Affidavit in Reply within four weeks, vide order dated 27 th

September 2023. However, the said Reply has not been filed, as

yet.

2. Learned Counsel representing Respondent No.2 seeks

liberty of the Court to file the said Affidavit in Reply within a

week's time. The liberty as prayed for is granted.

3. The learned AGP representing the Respondent-State,

while filing Reply to the paragraph-wise averments made in the

Writ Petition, shall also bring on record the steps taken by the

State Authorities for ensuring implementation of the judgment

dated 07th April 2017 passed by the coordinate bench of this

Court in Public Interest Litigation No.182 of 2010, in the matter

between Article in Mumbai Mirror 24.08.2010 Rescue

Sham Vs. State of Maharashtra1. The learned AGP shall file

the said Reply by 12th December 2023, after serving a copy

thereof upon the learned Amicus Curiae as also learned Counsel

representing the Petitioner.
