For the reasons stated in the affidavit, the petition is allowed.

This petition is filed to grant stay of all further proceedings against the decree and judgment dated 10.08.2023 in MVOP No.355 of 2014 on the file of the court of Chairman, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal- cum-VII Additional District Judge, Gudur.

The learned counsel for the petitioner/appellant submitted that the tribunal awarded huge amount of compensation of Rs.18,23,600/- with high rate of interest @ 9% p.a. as well, though the claimants sought only Rs.4,00,000/- of compensation.

Considering the submissions made and the contents of the affidavit in support of the petition, this Court is of the view and accordingly ordered that the

interim stay as prayed for is granted, subject to condition of deposit of 50% of the decretal amount before the Tribunal within eight (8) weeks from this order, failing which the stay gets vacated without any further order.
