5. 07.09.2022 RC, J I.A.No.1 of 2020 This application is filed by the petitioner to grant bail suspending the judgment, dated 18.02.2020, in S.C.No.226 of 2019 on the file of the Principal District and Sessions Judge, East Godavari District, pending disposal of the appeal.

It is a legal aid matter and the petitioner was convicted in the said S.C.No.266 of 2019 and sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for ten years and to pay fine of Rs.500/- and in default to suffer simple imprisonment for two months for the offence under Section 304-B IPC; also sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for five years and to pay a fine of Rs.15,000/- and in default suffer simple imprisonment for two months for the offence under Section 3 of Dowry Prohibition Act and also sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.200/- and in default suffer simple imprisonment for two months for the offence under Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act.

Having heard the learned counsel and taking into consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner as the alleged offences are heinous in nature. Accordingly, this application is dismissed.

Learned counsel for the appellant submits that paper books are ready and requested to hear the appeal at the earliest by fixing the date.
