1. It has been submitted that the Deputy Director of Consolidation has illegally reversed the judgment passed by the courts below and granted second chak to the present petitioner one kilometer away from original chak which is against the intention of the consolidation operation. It has been submitted that initially compact area was allotted to the petitioners, which has illegally been disturbed by the Deputy Director of Consolidation.

2. The matter requires consideration.

3. Respondents No. 1 and 3 are represented through learned Standing Counsel. Respondent No. 2 is also represented through his counsel, who have prayed for and are granted three weeks' time to file counter affidavit in the matter. The petitioners will have two weeks, thereafter, for filing rejoinder affidavit, if any.

4. List this matter on 15.3.2024.

5. Till the next date of listing, parties are directed to maintain status quo with respect to the nature and possession over the plot in question.
