The petitioner, who had appeared at the High School Examination-2009 conducted by the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, U.P. (hereinafter referred to as the 'Board'), has filed this petition for a direction upon the respondent Board to correct the date of birth of the petitioner mentioned in the certificate from 5th April, 1994 to 5th January, 1994.

It is stated that for making this correction, the petitioner had earlier filed an application before the Principal of the Institution on 8th October, 2013 and thereafter before the Secretary of the Board on 9th October, 2013 but no order has been passed.

Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents has stated that the correction can be made in accordance with the Regulations framed by the Board.

This writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of with a direction to the Board to take a decision on the application filed by the petitioner in accordance with the Regulations framed by the Board expeditiously.

It is made clear that the Court has not adjudicated on the merits of the case which shall be examined by the Board.
