The Gujarat Public Service Commission was formed under article 315 in the Constitution of India on 1st May 1960. To select applicants for civil service jobs in the Indian state of Gujarat according to the merits of the applicants and the rules of reservation. It was formed in 1960.

Eligibility
A candidate shall possess a degree in Law from any of the University incorporated by an Act of the Parliament or State Legislature in India or other educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by Government.
Salary
Pay Matrix Level No: 8- Rs.44,900-1,42,400 and other allowances (other allowances according to 6th Pay Commission)
