On Sunday, a 32-year-old man named Sushil Kumar, who had developed novel coronavirus-like symptoms, which included cough & fever, ended his life by cutting his throat with a shaving blade in Pilkhuwa town of Hapur district. Kumar used to run a salon in Pilkhuwa & had been distressed after he had developed some symptoms similar to that of the novel coronavirus. A suicide note has also been recovered from the spot.
Inspector General of Police (Meerut range) Praveen Kumar said that “He had mild fever & cough & was psychologically distressed due to these symptoms. He was under fear that the virus could also spread to his two children & decided to end his life".
According to local sleuths, Sushil Kumar was consulting a local private doctor in neighbouring Modinagar town but did not find any relief as his condition had begun to worsen since last week.
