The Division Bench of the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court , comprising Chief Justice Kotiswar Singh and Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal in the case of White Globe a Registered Trust Vs State of J&K & Ors has taken an important step towards ensuring the hassle-free movement of ambulances in the Union Territory by appointing the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir as the nodal officer to coordinate among various government departments.
The Bench expounded that we appoint Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir to be the Nodal Officer, who may file the comprehensive affidavit on behalf of the respondents, based on the inputs received from the various departments, so that there is unanimity and consistency in the stand taken by the respondents.
The Court listed the matter on 07.07.2023 for next hearing and instructed the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to file the affidavit taking into consideration various averments/assurances/undertakings made by the respondents in this Public Interest Litigation
