About NLU Delhi

National Law University, Delhi is a law school in India, situated in Sector-14, Dwarka, Delhi. It offers courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. As one of the national law schools in India, NLUD is built on the five-year law degree model proposed and implemented by the Bar Council of India.

About the Research Fellow at NLU Delhi

The National Law University –Delhi (NLUD) invites applications for the post of a full-time Research Fellow for a project titled Multi-scalar Dimensions of Sectoral Water Conflicts Through the Lens of Water Security. The position is initially for a one year period, that is, April 2025 to March 2026 (extendable up to five years, depending on performance).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conducting law research, including case law research (lower courts, high courts, Supreme Court, National Green Tribunal);
  • Developing and managing an extensive research database ;
  • Assisting with the fieldwork;
  • Organising project workshops and meetings;
  • Assisting with collation, analysis and publication of research findings;
  • Assisting with research administration

Eligibility Criteria

  • Essential: Law graduate (LLB); demonstrable interest in water law, policy and governance in India;
  • English proficiency;
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications;
  • Desirable: LLM/ PhD degree in law; prior experience of working on a water law and policy or environmental law project; Hindi proficiency.

Remuneration

Approximately ₹ 40,000 per month (with an annual increase, where the contract is extended)
