ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS) is founded on Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy of ‘Man – Making, Character Building and Nation Building’. Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies was established in the year 2000 with the vision to maintain and promote excellence in education and for imparting quality professional education comparable with the best in the world.

VIPS is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi. The Institute has been recognized for its impeccable academic standards, accredited an “A” grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and has also been recognized by UGC under Section 2(f).

Since the inception of Vivekananda School of Law and Legal Studies (VSLLS) of Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS) in the year 2000, it has produced nineteen gold medalists, twenty plus Judicial Officers and nearly all our students have been placed with highly reputed law firms, senior advocates, government and non – government establishments.

ABOUT THE 4TH VIPS NATIONAL RESEARCH PAPER WRITING COMPETITION

VIPS, Vivekananda School of Law and Legal Studies (VSLLS), Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies is organizing its 4th National Research Paper Writing Competition on “Constitutional Challenges and the Rule of Law.”

SUB THEMES FOR THE SUBMISSION OF RESEARCH PAPER

The competition invites original unpublished papers from students that may address one or more of the following sub-themes. Papers may include, but are not limited to the following sub-themes:

Citizenship and Rule of Law: Minority Rights, National Register of Citizens, Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019, National Population Register, Indigenous Rights.
Free Speech, Dissent and Rule of Law: Sedition, Internet Shutdown, Intolerance, Mob Lynching.
Media and Rule of Law: Regulation of Social Media, Privacy, Yellow Journalism, Independent Journalism, Responsible Reporting.
Courts and Rule of Law: Constitutionalism, Preventive Detention, Independence of Judiciary, Transfer and Appointment of Judges, Transparency and Accountability.
Gender and Rule of Law: Gender Inequality, Gender Identity, Sexual Gender Violence and Orientation.
Federalism and Rule of Law: One Nation One Election, Abrogation of Article 370, Fiscal Federalism.
Rule of Law and Economic growth: Economic Slowdown, Ease of doing business, Labour reforms, Independence of Economic Institutions.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The competition is open for students pursuing LL.B. (3 years and 5 years)/LLM course from any recognized university across the country.

CALL FOR PAPERS

The participants are required to submit research papers both in soft and hard copy form. All the soft copy submissions in MS Word should be mailed at lexquestor[at]gmail.com and hard copies must reach on or before the deadline for submission at:

IMPORTANT DATES

Last date for Registration: 28th February 2020.
Last date for submission: 30th March 2020.
Announcement of result: 20th April 2020.

REGISTRATION DETAILS

The Students interested are required to send the duly completed registration form to lexquestor[@]gmail.com along with a scanned copy of a Demand Draft of Rs. 500 /- (per entry in case of the single author) and Rs. 600/- (per entry in case of co-authorship) as the registration fee.

The draft should be in favour of “Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies” payable at Delhi. The hard copy of the Demand Draft and Registration form must be sent to Dean, Vivekananda School of Law and legal studies, Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, AU Block, Pitampura Outer Ring Road, New Delhi -110034.
