NLU, Nagpur was established by the Maharashtra Government under the Maharashtra National Law University Act (Maharashtra Act No. VI of 2014). About the Competition

MNLUN and QDeLiCo are delighted to announce The First Edition of “The Orange Capital Debate” a British Parliamentary Debate scheduled for March 29th-31st, 2024. With participants from all across the country eager to engage, this event aims to Ignite Minds, Inspire Change, and enrich us in Illuminating Perspectives.

Your presence among us is eagerly anticipated as we embark on this intellectual journey. The Orange Capital Debate, hosted by QDeLiCo, stands as an intellectual pinnacle within the realm of competitive discourse. This prestigious debate competition is aptly named for its association with Orange City.

Eligibility

This competition is open to any individual affiliated with an educational institute. No cross-university teams shall be allowed.

How to Register?

• PHASE I REGISTRATION (Early Bird)
  • Date: 20th February 2024
  • Registration Cost: Rs 5800 (including accommodation Rs 500 per day)
• PHASE II REGISTRATION
  • Date: 24th February to 10th March 2024
  • Registration Cost: Rs 6000 (including accommodation Rs 500 per day)

Team Composition

A Team must comprise of 2 Speakers & 1 Adjudicator.

• Preliminary Rounds: 29 March 2024
• Preliminary rounds and Cultural Event: 30 March 2024
• Semi-Finals and Finals: 31 March 2024
• Prize Distribution followed by Valedictory Ceremony: 31 March 2024.

• Winner: Rs. 20000/-
• Runner Up: Rs. 15000/-
• Best Speaker: Rs. 7000/-
• Best Adjudicator: Rs. 7000/-
