Lloyd Law College offers an LL.M. in International and Commercial Law in association with the Buckingham University, U.K.

The University of Buckingham considered to be one of the pioneers for private higher education in the UK is known for its distinctive approach to small-group teaching and pastoral care and has been awarded Gold in the first-ever Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

Lloyd Law College, in association with the University of Buckingham, is introducing the LL.M. in International & Commercial Law for Indian/SAARC students.

This Masters Program will be a replica of the LL.M. in International and Commercial law offered at the Buckingham University and will strictly follow the curriculum and course structure of the University.

The course structure, modules, examination, evaluation and award of the degree and other curricular aspects would be as stipulated by the University of Buckingham and will equip the students to aim for a global legal career.

Eligibility for the LLM Program

The admission process will be according to the eligibility criteria of the University of Buckingham, UK.

For Admissions in LL.M. 1-Year degree programme, the candidate should have:

Bachelors in Law (with not less than 50% marks) from any University/Institution recognized by Bar Council of India to be eligible for enrolment as an advocate in India.

OR

A Law Degree from a foreign university with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade as per the Association of Indian University (AIU) Guidelines.

Intake

Maximum Seats: 100 seats (One Hundred only).

The imparting institute reserves all rights to fix less number of the seats to maintain the quality of education and mentorship.

The program aims:

  • To develop a systematic and in-depth understanding of areas of commercial and international law;

  • To develop the critical skills necessary to analyse and evaluate complex legal problems and related issues;
  • To give students an opportunity to examine and discuss specialist aspects of commercial and international law, and develop and practise a number of advanced key skills, including research skills;
  • To introduce the students to emerging areas of laws like artificial intelligence;
  • To give students the opportunity to undertake substantial independent research projects in areas of international, comparative or commercial law and enable them to evaluate their own decision making;
  • To enable students to develop a co-operative approach to problem-solving through seminar discussions.

The students of LLM Program will also gain the practical skills to:

  • Identify, find, use and be up-to-date with primary and secondary legal resources at an advanced level;
  • To act independently in planning and managing tasks, including the conduct of their own dissertations;
  • To make oral presentations on complex and specialist legal issues in a concise and coherent way;
  • To critically engage in academic debate on commercial, international and comparative legal issues, both in writing and orally;
  • To read and comprehend complex legal and related materials;
  • To use advanced information technology for legal writing and research.
