The Central Law College, Salem is recognized by The Bar Council of India, New Delhi and originally affiliated to University of Madras and later with The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai. The institution is a reputed and prestigious institution conducting both Five years B.A.LL.B, Three years LL.B Law Course and LL.M in the State of Tamil Nadu since 1984, founded by Prof. R. V. Dhanapalan. The college celebrated its Silver Jubilee in the year 2009, well known for its Legal Education and aims to introduce the students to the basic concepts of law and enrich them with knowledge and experience with the aim to shape them to take up the Legal Profession with Dignity.
The media plays a crucial role in shaping public opinion, disseminating information, and holding power accountable. It has long been referred to as the “Fourth Pillar” of democracy. However, for the media to fulfill its role effectively, it must maintain its independence and adherence to ethical standards. In recent times, the media landscape has witnessed significant changes with the advent of digital platforms, social media and new technologies. The theme mainly focuses on to bring foster discussions, debates, and insights into various aspects of media, including its ethical standards, influence on public discourse, challenges posed by misinformation, and the evolving relationship between media and technology. By focusing on introspection, the conference seeks to promote a deeper understanding of the media’s impact and responsibilities while exploring ways to enhance its credibility, integrity, and positive contribution to society.
In light of this stance, The Central Law College, Salem organizes a one-day National Conference on the theme “Media – The Fourth Pillar: Need for Introspection” on 14 th October, 2023. There are various sub-themes with reference to the main theme that explores the vast areas of research. The Conference aims to bring together media professionals, legal experts, academicians and scholars, policymakers, students, and stakeholders to engage in critical discussions about the current state of media, its challenges, and the path forward.
Abstract: Abstract shall not exceed 300 words and shall include five key words. The author(s) shall specify the title of the paper, Name(s) and designation of the Author(s). All abstracts should be submitted by filling the following Google Form Link On or before 28.08.2023. The Author(s) of shortlisted Abstract(s) shall be intimated on or before 01.09.2023.
Author and Co-Author: There may be an author and a co-author for a research paper
Registration: The authors of the selected abstracts have to register and pay the prescribed fee before the submission of full paper. Author and co-author have to pay their fees individually for registration. Co-authors will have to use the same registration form. Full Paper: The conference paper should be original, unpublished and should adhere to the conference theme. Full paper can be submitted using the following Google Form Link on or before 20.09.2023

Best and original papers will be selected for publication with ISBN and authors will be contacted for the same.
