The Court of Ld. Special Judge, CBI (West), Lucknow has today sentenced 08 accused Akeel Ansari, Satyam Patel, Aman Singh, Vivek Verma, Ajay Patel, Rohit Mishra, Babu Khan and Faisal to Life Imprisonment with total fine of Rs. 11 lakh in a case related to murder case of Shri Shrawan Sahu, a Lucknow based businessman.
CBI had registered this case on 03.04.2017 by taking over FIR No. 52/2017 of PS Saadatganj, Lucknow on the request of Govt. of U.P. and further notification by Govt of India.
It was alleged that on 01.02.2017 at about 08:30 PM Shri Shrawan Sahu was sitting on the counter of his oil shop at Bara Chauraha, Saadatganj, Lucknow. Two persons came there on a motorcycle and fired & killed the deceased Shrawan Sahu as the deceased was doing close pairavi against Akeel Ansari and others in a case related to murder of his son Aayush.
During investigation, it was revealed that accused Akeel Ansari had earlier approached the deceased Shrawan Sahu to compromise for not pursuing the case of murder of his son Ayush Sahu but the deceased did not agree. Accused Akeel Ansari started threatening the deceased. In order to eliminate the deceased, accused Akeel Ansari gave supari to kill him to the shooters of Munna Bajrangi Gang but could not succeed.
In the year 2016, after Diwali, accused Akeel Ansari hatched a criminal conspiracy with accused Satyam Patel, Aman Singh, Ajay Patel, Rohit Mishra, Vivek Verma, Babu Khan and Faisal at the residence of co-accused Satyam Patel at Indira Nagar, Lucknow. Thereafter, recce of the house and the shop of the deceased was done.
On 01.02.2017, accused Satyam Patel @ Rockey and Aman Singh reached the shop of the deceased at around 08:00 PM on the motorcycle of Vivek Verma. Accused Satyam Patel @ Rockey entered the shop and fired 05 bullets at the deceased. After killing, both the accused persons ran away to Delhi. Their clothes were recovered from the house of co-accused Ajay Patel. The said motorcycle was recovered at the instance of co-accused Vivek Verma.
Accused Satyam Patel @ Rockey and Aman Singh were arrested on 09.02.2017. Thereafter, on 16.02.2017, one Revolver with five empty cartridges and one live bullet were recovered from accused Satyam Patel and one Pistol and two live bullets in Magazine were recovered from accused Aman Singh.
After investigation, CBI filed chargesheet on 09.05.2017 against accused Akeel Ansari, Satyam Patel @ Rocky, Aman Singh, Ajay Patel, Rohit Mishra and Vivek Verma U/s 120-B, 302 and 201 IPC and Supplementary Chargesheet was also filed on 30.09.2020 against accused Babu Khan and Faisal @ Bablu U/s 120-B, 302 and 201 IPC.
The Ld. Court, after trial, found the accused guilty and accordingly, sentenced them to Life Imprisonment and fine.
During trial, CBI ensured effective prosecution, presented cogent evidences, examined 51 witnesses and exhibited 101 documents and 55 material objects which led to conviction of all the accused persons.
