The Special Judge, CBI Court, Ahmedabad has today sentenced Sh. U. B. Makwana, then Branch Manager, Dena Bank, Chandkheda to undergo five years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 50,000/- in a bribery case.
CBI had registered a case on 17.07.2002 against Shri U. B. Makwana, Branch Manager, Dena Bank, Chandkheda on the allegations of demanding illegal gratification of Rs. 30,000/- from the Complainant. It was alleged that the accused demanded the bribe for showing favour to Complainant in settlement of outstanding Loan. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. 20,000/-.
After investigation, a chargesheet was filed against the accused.
The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
