On Sunday, Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan took oath as the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court. He was administered the oath of office by Governor Draupadi Murmi in a simple ceremony at Raj Bhawan. CM Raghuwar Das, Judges of the Jharkhand HC & other dignitaries were present at the function.
Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan has been appointed as the 13th Chief Justice of the Jharkhand HC. The post was lying vacant since May this year after the Ex-Chief Justice, Anirudh Bose was appointed as a judge of the Apex Court.
Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan was a Judge in the Punjab & Haryana High Court.
He was elevated to Additional Judge of the Patna High Court on July 14, 2008. Later, he was appointed as a permanent Judge on Jan 16, 2010. He also served as the Acting Chief Justice of the Patna High Court for a brief period in 2018.
