CBI bust Child Pornography Racket being run on WhatsApp, Group Administrator Arrested

Central Bureau of Investigation has busted a child pornography racket being run through a WhatsApp group comprising 119 members from various countries.

CBI has arrested the alleged Group Administrator Nikhil Verma, who is a resident of Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh. The 20-year-old suspect, an unemployed B.Com graduate, will be brought to Delhi on transit remand.

Satyendra Chauhan, a resident of Mumbai; Nafis Raza and Zahid, residents of Delhi; and Adarsh of Noida have been identified as the other administrators of WhatsApp group.

Pornographic material was being uploaded in the group titled as “Kids-XXX” involving people from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, United States, Mexico, New Zealand, China, Nigeria, Brazil and Kenya.

Their details are being shared with respective foreign jurisdictions for initiating action against them.

CBI is also conducting searches on the premises of suspects in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai. Agency is also trying to determine whether accused persons were charging the money for sharing pornographic material.
