GLS established in the year 1927, is one of the largest and oldest educational institutions in the state of lmGujarat. GLS was promoted by luminaries Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Shri Ganesh Mavlankar, the first Speaker of the country, and Shri I. M. Nanavati with the vision of Excellence in Education. GLS University was established in April 2015 under Gujarat Private University Act-2009.
In a short span, GLS University has become a Prestigious University with 15,000+ students 10+ departments, and 20+ programs in diverse disciplines like Business Management, Design, Law, Computer Application, Engineering, Commerce, Performing Arts, and Research at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels which provides enhanced learning experiences through their excellent academic quality, well-equipped infrastructure, innovative teaching methods, creative curricular design, experienced faculty, and industry-oriented programs.

About Faculty of Law
Faculty of Law (GLS Law College), a constituent department of GLS University, has distinguished itself by its top-notch academic programme, professional faculty acquittance and superlative practical opportunities provided to students.
It is a premier destination for students interested in establishing a virtuous career in law and aiming to become torchbearers of justice. The Faculty of Law has emerged as the most preferred destination for legal education.
The college has well-experienced faculty members as per the Bar Council of India norms and also provides experiential learning to law aspirants through guest lectures and expert sessions by senior practicing advocates and other experts in the field.
The teaching pedagogy includes classroom discussions, case studies, interactive presentations, guest lectures, expert sessions, seminars, conferences, and case law methods coupled with intensive practical training through moot courts.
The untiring efforts have enabled the students to secure gold medals for five consecutive years at the University level. It is worth noting that the Faculty of Law has ventured in all possible educational arenas by organizing International Conferences, National Moot Court Competitions, National Sports fests, and various seminars at the National and International level.
It has now become the epicentre where knowledge liberates and ideas are conceptualized.

Five-Year Integrated Programmes: B.A.LL.B. & B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons)
- H.S.C. (10+2 or its equivalent) in any stream with a minimum 45% in General Category,
- Minimum 42% in OBC Category
- Minimum 40% in case of SC/ST Category
One Year LL.M Programme: Criminal and Security Law & Corporate and Commercial Law

Moot Court Competition
- Students of semester IV Tirth Shah, Devshrut Joshi and Soham Shingala bagged the Runners-Up Trophy and Best Memorial with a cash prize of Rs. 40,000 at National Moot Court Competition organized by National Forensic Science University, Gandhinagar.
- Harsh Desai and Hardi Shah (Semester IV) were winners at National Client Counseling and a cash prize Rs.15,000/- organized by M. S. University, Vadodara.
- Hetvi Shah (Semester IV) and Adrita Tiwari (Semester II) secured 2nd runner’s up position in National Moot Court Competition and cash prize of Rs. 7,500/ organized by M.S. University, Vadodara
- Pooja Brahmbhatt, Aesha Gandhi, Vatsal Parikh (Semester VIII) bagged the Winning Trophy at State Level Gujarati Moot Court Competition organized by Parul University, Vadodara.
- Tapati Dave, Sanskruti Trivedi (Semester VI) and Yuvraj Goswami (semester IV) bagged the Runner’s Up Trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 70,000/- at Christ University, Pune.
Life at the Faculty of Law
- Experts Visit at Campus like, Smruti Irani ( Cabinet Minister of Women and Child Development, Government of India), Lord Shri Bhikhu Parekh (Labour Member, House of Lords, UK), Hon’ble Mr. Justice Peter Mohan Maithree Peiris (Former Chief Justice, Supreme Court of Sri Lanka), Padma Shri Ujjwal Nikkam, (Special Public Prosecutor, Maharashtra) and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Mukesh R. Shah (Judge, Supreme Court of India) etc.
- The Faculty of Law hosts Shri I.M. Nanavati Memorial National Moot Court Competition every year with the highest cash price of Rs. 5, 46, 000. This competition invites 32 teams from legal institutions form across the country and every year receives an overwhelming participation from many National Law Universities and prestigious legal institutions.
- GLS Law Journal (ISSN: 2582-5402) is a bi-annual academic open access journal which aims to focus on contemporary legal issues currently being debated. It provides a literary and intellectual platform for the scholarly analysis of inter-professional collaboration and interdisciplinary academic research on the law, socio-legal issues, and contemporary legal issues.
