SheBox initiative for making Sexual Harassment Complaints Online

Recently, the Kerala High Court launched a new online complaint management system, ‘SheBox’, designed to enable its women staff members to confidentially report instances of sexual harassment at the workplace. The initiative marks a significant step towards ensuring a safer and more inclusive work environment within the judicial institution.

The SheBox portal was launched on November 1, coinciding with Kerala Piravi Day and the 70th Establishment Day of the High Court. The digital platform forms part of a series of IT initiatives introduced by Chief Justice Nitin Jamdar aimed at modernising court administration.
Notably, SheBox was developed entirely by women developers from the High Court’s IT Directorate, reflecting a strong commitment to women-led innovation and empowerment within the institution.

During the launch, the initiative was lauded for addressing a sensitive yet crucial issue in professional spaces. It was emphasised that while the legal system provides remedies for sexual harassment, institutional mechanisms like SheBox can ensure faster, more accessible, and confidential grievance redressal for women employees.

Delivering the felicitation address, Justice A. Muhamed Mustaque, Judge of the Kerala High Court and Chairman of the Computerisation Committee, observed that such digital initiatives reinforce the judiciary’s commitment to both technological advancement and gender sensitivity.

The event concluded with formal addresses by senior officers. Registrar General Gopakumar G welcomed the gathering, and Registrar (Vigilance) Mini S. Das proposed the vote of thanks, marking the official rollout of the SheBox portal as a milestone in the High Court’s ongoing digital transformation and workplace safety efforts.
