Hollywood star Johnny Depp has finished his four-day testimony in the defamation case he had filed against his former wife, Amber Heard. The defamation trial concluded on Monday. It was being conducted in a Fairfax, Virginia court.

The actor was cross-examined by Ben Rottenborn, Amber Heard's attorney, on the fourth day of the trial. Depp was asked about the audio clips wherein he reportedly berated Heard. The audio clips were listened to by the court just hours before Depp's testimony.

However, he has continuously stated that he never hit Heard. Instead, he has claimed that it was Heard who had hit him. Depp said he was a victim of domestic abuse and not his former wife, Heard.

When asked whether Heard was the only person to have issues with the actor's alcohol abuse, Depp replied that he was "the only person" he had abused in his life. Besides, he also termed the end phase of his relationship with Heard "horrific".

The defamation trial started last week and is about to continue for at least six weeks. Both Heard and Depp have accused each other of physical violence. Heard is yet to testify in the court on this matter.

The actor has filed a $50-million defamation suit against Amber Heard over an op-ed she had written for The Washington Post in 2018. Although the article nowhere mentioned Depp's name, the actor has argued that it defamed him and cost him lucrative acting projects. Besides, in the audio clips, Heard seemed to taunt Depp that no one would believe or respect him if the latter called the former an abuser.

Notably, in the op-ed piece, Heard had called herself a "public figure representing domestic abuse."

Depp and Heard had tied the knot in 2015 after meeting first time in 2009. However, their marriage could not sustain beyond a year, as they settled their divorce in 2016.
