Child help desks were set up at major stations like Secunderabad, Kacheguda, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Hyderabad & Nanded with the purpose of keeping vigil at stations, coordinate with the concerned departments & provide immediate care & support to lonely children identified at stations.

"The rescued children include 2252 boys & 688 girls who include runaway children, child labour & orphans. In addition, 84 children who were bought to the stations for trafficking were rescued, & cases were registered against the offenders," said SCR in an official statement on Wednesday.
