Dismissed BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav staged protest at the Jantar Mantar against alleged corruption in the system that, he stated, also led to his dismissal.
Yadav had featured heavily in news after he posted a video highlighting substandard quality of food being served to jawans.
Agenda, which aims to provide transparency, includes assigning a unique identification number to every policeman and the government official that people can use to lodge complaints against them. Agenda further states that all the probes should be conducted in presence of cameras.
NGO has raised demands like removal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from all parts of India barring Jammu and Kashmir and replacing it with a law where the incidents are taken up on a case-to-case basis at level of IPS officers.
Protest also saw participation from the Human Rights Activist Irom Sharmila, who demanded removal of AFSPA from Northeast and more accountability for the top officials.
According to Tej Bahadur, a bigger movement against the corruption will be launched across the country in two months if Agenda is not met by Government that aims to provide more transparency.
