Aim: This FDP aims to act as a catalyst for discussions on the key aspects of Cyberspace, and its future trends and technological impacts, including legal, ethical, social, policy and regulatory issues thereof and present an integrated, holistic and strategic view of the issues therein, whilst recognizing that there is an urgent need for effective global cooperation on cyber issues amongst all stakeholders. The experts in the FDP will deliberate on contemporary challenges posed by technological advancement in laws.

Sub-Themes:

1. Law in the Context of the Digital Revolution: Current Legal Problems.
2. Challenges of Artificial Intelligence: Machine Learning, Augmented and Virtual Reality.
3. Innovation for Access to Justice: E-courts, AI in the judiciary and Rule of Law.
4. Digital Technologies in Alternative Dispute Resolution: Online Dispute Resolution.
5. Regulation of Robotic Vehicles and Drones: Cybersecurity and Liability Issues.
6. Envisaging a Comprehensive Legal Regime for Data Protection: The Digital Personal Data Protection Bill 2022.
7. Regulation of Social Media and Digital Platforms: Ethics and Morality.
9. Internet of Things (IoT) and Law of Crimes.
10. Emerging Legal Trends in the regulation of Fintech Markets.
11. Persistent concerns around Freedom of Speech and Expression of Online Users 5G and challenges to Net Neutrality.
13. Big Data: Privacy and Regulatory Issues.
14. Blockchain Ecosystem in India. Law, Technology and Democracy.

Objectives:

-To provide orientation and training on the current legal problems encountered by the confluence of Law and Technology.

-To identify the distinctive legal, policy, regulatory and technical challenges, issues and nuances thrown up by growing cyber security breaches and the potential approaches being adopted in this regard to deal with them.

-To train the faculty to inculcate the skills required by engaging technology related courses.

-To augment organizational capacities to assess the impact of legal response to current technological challenges.

-To create a culture of developing comprehensive legal responses and reforms towards the identified gaps between Law and Technology.

Important Notes:

1. Full-time faculty members of Law Universities and Law Schools are eligible.
2. Accommodation will be provided on request.
3. Attendance for all sessions is mandatory.
4. All the participants shall be awarded a certificate on successful completion of the programme.
