Gandhian Justice and Alternative Dispute Resolution: Ethical Foundations and Contemporary Practice is an edited volume that seeks to examine Mahatma Gandhi’s ethical philosophy and its relevance to modern Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms.
The book integrates Gandhian principles such as Truth (Satya), Non-violence (Ahimsa), moral responsibility, and community harmony with contemporary legal practices including mediation, conciliation, arbitration, and Lok Adalats.
The volume aims to bridge theory and practice by situating Gandhian thought within present- day legal systems, social conflicts, environmental disputes, and global peacebuilding efforts. It adopts an interdisciplinary approach connecting law, political science, ethics, and public policy.
