The High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad has on Monday suspended Two Senior Judges on disciplinary grounds as an aftermath of an agitation against provisional allocation and posting of judicial officers between States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

With this the en masse resignation submitted by judges of subordinate courts in Telangana on Sunday took a very serious turn on Monday as the High Court suspended the President Sh. K. Ravinder Reddy and General Secretary Sh. V. Varaprasad respectively of Telangana Judges’ Association on serious disciplinary grounds.

Mr. K. Ravinder Reddy is serving as IVth Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge at the Nampally criminal courts. While Mr. Varaprasad is XIVth Additional District Judge in Ranga Reddy courts.

Expressing solidarity and Protesting the suspension order, the Telangana Judges have decided to go for mass casual leave on Tuesday.

Executive committee of Judges’ Association is scheduled to meet on Tuesday where a proposal would be discussed that Mr. Reddy and Mr. Varaprasad would sit on an indefinite hunger strike.

In the meanwhile, Judges got support from Lawyers Body as well when the  meeting of general body of Telangana High Court Advocates Association condemned the suspension orders and also sought recall of the Acting Chief Justice of High Court Dilip B. Bhosale in resolution requesting the Chief Justice of India and President.

The Body called advocates of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to abstain from cases in Court I, presided by Justice Bhosale, untill the suspension was revoked.

120 judges meet

Earlier in an unprecedented development and a clear sign of open revolt, more than hundred judges, in a first in the Country, took to streets in the city for protesting the move to post Andhra-origin Judges to Telangana Courts.

As many as 120 of them even submitted their resignations.

The Judges had carried out a march from Gun Park to Raj Bhavan and are absolutely not willing to give up till their demands are met.

The Telangana judges and advocates are now opposing the provisional list drafted and released by the High Court on May 3, allocating as many as 135 judges who are natives of Andhra Pradesh to subordinate courts in Telangana.
