Memorial International Moot Court Competition 2026. Established under the ICFAI University Act, 2003, ICFAI has consistently ranked among the leading private universities in India. The International Moot Court Competition is dedicated to the memory of Shri N.J. Yasaswy, the visionary founder of the ICFAI Group. His commitment to building institutions with a “private effort and public purpose” continues to inspire this competition, offering participants a chance to engage with challenging legal propositions, refine advocacy skills, and experience the complexities of international legal frameworks. This event represents an intellectually rigorous, professionally designed competition ideal for individuals seeking advanced exposure to the global legal landscape.
About the Competition / Opportunity
The N.J.Y. Memorial International Moot Court Competition 2026 is an opportunity designed to empower students with real-time legal problem-solving, analytical thinking, and strategic advocacy. Hosted at ICFAI Law School, the competition focuses on nurturing budding legal minds by providing them a simulated courtroom environment aligned with international standards.
The event will be held on 7–8 February 2026, comprising memorial submissions, researcher test, preliminary rounds, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final round. Participants will argue complex issues grounded in international legal principles, procedural reasoning, and judicial interpretation. The competition also offers students an opportunity to present memorials for both sides and engage in intense oral rounds before distinguished judges, faculty members, and experts.
This competition aims to introduce participants to the practical complexities of the law, enhance their legal drafting, and strengthen their presentation abilities in intellectually competitive surroundings. The hybrid nature of the structure, combined with expert evaluation, ensures that students gain impeccable exposure and a deeper understanding of advocacy and international jurisprudence.

Registration Process:

- Each participating team shall fill out the registration form.
- The registration is on first come first serve basis. As soon as the cap is reached, the registration will close.
- All Indian teams shall be required to make a payment of INR 3,000/- as the fee for registration to participate in the Competition. There is no registration fees for International teams. In addition to this, the OC will Provide Accommodation Assistance to National Teams. The competition for International teams will be held online. The Competition for National Teams will be held in University Campus.
- Upon successful completion and submission of the registration form, each team will receive a confirmation email from the OC where the payment details will be shared.
- If any team does not receive the confirmation email and payment details, they should send an email to MOOTCOURT@iudehradun.edu.in
- Incomplete registration form will not be accepted.
- The team shall nominate one member of the team as a primary contact person, who shall communicate all information concerning the competition. It shall be the responsibility of the person nominated to convey all such information to the other member(s) of the team.
No refund shall be given under any circumstance in case of withdrawal.
Eligibility:
- All students who are pursuing an Integrated 5-year LL.B. or 3-year LL.B. program from recognized Law Schools, Universities, and Institutions in India and law programmes outside India shall be eligible to participate.
- Each institution can be represented by maximum three teams.
Team Composition:
Each participating team may consist of either two (2) or three (3) members. A team of two members shall include two speakers only wherein one speaker will be both speaker and researcher. A team of three members shall include two speakers and one researcher.
All members of a team should belong to the same institution/department. Any team, intending to change the team composition of the team shall intimate the OC by MOOTCOURT@iudehradun.edu.in
