The Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law & Justice is awarding internship opportunity to law students and are inviting them to work the Government Offices on an honorarium basis and assist the Officers at various levels.

The opportunity extends to the Ministry's officies in metropolitan cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata.

The Law Minister, Kiren Rijiju has tweeted the information from his official handle as well.

The instructions and the application form for the internship programmer could be accessed from the Ministry's online portal https://legalaffairs.gov.in/internship.

As per the eleibility criteria given by the Minsitry, Indian students who are pursuing studies in 2nd & 3rd year of three-year degree course and in 3rd to 5th year of five-year degree course or students who have completed their LLB course from any recognized college/law school/university are eligibile apply for this program.

The internship period will ordinarily be one month. It shall commence from the first working day of every month unless specified. Monthly internship shall tentatively start from June, 2022 till May, 2023.

The maximum number of interns to be allowed in a given months will be 10-30. The interns may be given an honorarium of Rs.5000/- on completion of their internship.

Selection of interns will be on first come first serve basis, subject to the availability of slot and approval of the Competent Authority.

At the end of the Internship Programme,a Certificate of Internship shall be awarded.

The other details include termination conditions, confidentiality protocol, discontinuation of internship in case of unsatisfactory performance, etc.
