The Division Bench of the Kerala High Court, comprising Justice Anil K. Narendran and Justice PG Ajijthkumar has initiated suo motu case against the unauthorized entry into the sacred 'Kalthara' of Ponnambalamedu.
The Bench has directed the Senior Government Pleader to obtain instructions from the Deputy Director and the District Police Chief regarding the current status of the investigation into the unauthorized entry into the sacred 'Kalthara' of Ponnambalamedu.
The Court was informed that a case has already been registered at the Pachakkanam Station of the Pamba Range under the provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act and the Kerala Forest Act.
The Bench further considered the report of the Special Commissioner, Sabarimala and also the submissions made at the Bar and expounded that we deem it appropriate to direct the learned Senior Government Pleader to get necessary instructions from the 9th respondent Deputy Director and also the additional 10th respondent District Police Chief on the present stage of the investigation in O.R.No.1 of 2023 and Crime No.127 of 2023.
