Gujarat high court has launched e-filing of cases and an online facility to check the status of cases. Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court Justice Vikram Nath launched these two new services on the occasion of 74th Independence Day yesterday.
He also directed five exclusive counters for physical case filing amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The e-filing software developed by the eCommittee of the Supreme Court has been implemented for the Gujarat high court. This service will be available on the portal, http://efiling.ecourts.gov.in/.
Initially, the service will be available for Criminal Miscellaneous application and special Criminal application for criminal cases and PILs, admiralty suits, first appeals, letters patent appeals and tax appeals for civil cases.
Advocates registered with the IT cell of the High Court will require registering themselves on the e- filing portal. The court also launched the ‘EmailMyCaseStatus’ service, which is activated after online registration.
AIR correspondent reports that by availing this facility, anyone will be able to get automatic s about their case directly on e-mail.
