4. Petitioner's father was employed as Administrative Officer in Judgeship at Chamoli, who died in harness on 22.01.2021. Petitioner applied for compassionate appointment and he was offered appointment on a Group-D post, which he accepted.
5. In this writ petition, petitioner has claimed compassionate appointment on a Group-C post.
6. Law is well settled that appointment on compassionate ground cannot be claimed as a matter of right and it is a devise to help the family of the deceased employee to tide over the sudden financial crisis. Whatever financial crises was faced by petitioner's family is now over and petitioner has also been appointed against a Group-D post. The relief as prayed by the petitioner, therefore, cannot be granted.
7. The writ petition fails and is dismissed.
