Ms. Sangeeta Adhikari Patni, Advocate for the appellant.
Mr. Pankaj Joshi, A.G.A. for the State. The respondent no.2 was granted bail in FIR No.83 of 2023, Police Station Gadarpur, District Udham Singh Nagar, by this Court on 06.03.2024. It is the case of killing of the husband of the applicant.
Learned counsel for the applicant submits that the respondent no.2, after his release on bail, is threatening and intimidating the applicant; he is trying to pressurise her so that she may not depose before the court; he has been following her personally or through some other persons.
It is also submitted that, in fact, the applicant has given a report to SHO, Police Station Gadarpur, District Udham Singh Nagar.
What action has been taken by the SHO on it, it is not conveyed to the applicant.
Issue notices to the respondent no.2, returnable within four weeks.
Steps to be taken within a week. List this matter for hearing on 16.04.2026.
In the meanwhile, SHO, Police Station Gadarpur, District Udham Singh Nagar, shall submit a report as to what action has been taken by him? As to whether the proceedings under the Witness Protection Scheme has been initiated or not?
