Proceedings for eviction of the petitioner were initiated under Section 61A(1) of the Indian Forest Act, 1927. On 19.06.2024, the respondent no.1 passed the eviction order. The eviction order was challenged in an appeal, which was dismissed. Hence, the petitioner had filed the writ petition (WPMS No.583 of 2025).

2. This contempt petition has been filed under the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 (in short, "Act, 1971"). The petitioner has prayed for action under the Act, 1971 against the respondents in respect of the order dated 27.02.2025, passed in the said writ petition (WPMS No.583 of 2025). By the said order, following direction was issued :-

"Having considered, as an interim measure, it is directed that till the next date of listing, the operation of the impugned orders shall remain in abeyance".

3. Ms. Tanupriya Joshi, learned counsel for the petitioner.

4. Ms. Tanupriya Joshi, Advocate submitted that the respondent no.1 deliberately deployed tractors and JCB machines on the petitioner's land, destroyed his crops and fodder and took illegal possession of his cultivated land.

5. It is prima facie case of wilful disobedience of the order dated 27.02.2025.

6. Notice is being issued to the respondent no.1. Steps to be taken within three days.

7. Respondent no.1 is directed to appear through video conferencing before this Court on 18.03.2026 at 10.30 a.m. and clarify why proceedings should not be initiated against him for committing the contempt of Court.
