        Mr. P. Pandu Ranga Reddy, learned counsel appears for

the petitioners.


        Mr. N. Praveen Kumar, learned Government Pleader for

Medical, Health & Family Welfare appears for the State of

Telangana.


        Mr. A. Prabhakar Rao, learned Standing Counsel

appears for the respondent University.

Ms. Gorantla Sri Ranga Pujitha, learned Standing Counsel for Medical Council of India appears for respondent No.4.

2. In this Writ Petition, the petitioners inter alia have prayed for the following relief:

"....declaring the action of the 3rd respondent in allotting Non- Minority students to the petitioner minority institution ignoring the minority status of the petitioner institution as being illegal, CJ & NVSK, J 2 W.P.No.31618 of 2017 arbitrary, unconstitutional and contrary to the judgments of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India and consequently direct the respondent to recall and reallot the Non-Minority students allotted to the petitioner institution and further direct the respondents to allot only Minority Students to the petitioner institution in Super Speciality Courses being run by the petitioner institution."

3. Petitioner No.1 is a registered trust which has been established to impart education to the minority students in the State of Telangana. When the process of admission to Post Graduate Medical Courses for the academic year 2017-18 was about to commence, a notification was issued by Medical Council of India by which common counselling for admission to Under Graduate and Post Graduate Medical Courses was introduced. Thereupon, the petitioners have filed this petition seeking the relief as aforesaid.

4. From perusal of the averments made in the petition, it is evident that the grievance of the petitioners was confined to the academic year 2017-18. It is further clarified that the issue involved in this petition is kept open to be agitated in an appropriate proceeding.

5. With the aforesaid liberty, the petition is disposed of.

Miscellaneous applications, if any pending, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
