JUDGMENT:
Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of respondent No. 2 submits that arising out of the same accident, the appeal preferred by the respondent No. 2 stood disposed of in terms of settlement arrived at between the parties before the Lok Adalat, which passed an award on 14.12.2019, however, the pendency of the present appeal preferred by the claimants was not brought to the notice of the Lok Adalath or before this Court while disposing of MACMA No. 3146 of 2014. Therefore, the learned Standing Counsel submits that since the lis in this appeal has already been settled between the parties, nothing remains for adjudication and the appeal may be closed. The learned counsel for the claimants has not disputed the said statement made by the learned Standing Counsel.
In view of the above, the appeal stands closed. No order as to costs.
Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed.
