CRIMINAL REVISION CASE No.2341 of 2016
ORDER:
This Criminal Revision Case is filed by the petitioner- accused against the judgment dated 20.06.2016 in Crl.A.No.1085 of 2015 on the file of learned XIV Additional District and Sessions Judge cum XIV Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge, L.B.Nagar, Ranga Reddy District, in awarding double the cheque amount as compensation under Section 357(3) of Cr.P.C and in default to suffer simple imprisonment for 6 months for the offence punishable under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act.
2. On 11.11.2022, at the request of the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court referred the matter to the Lok-Adalat. The Secretary, Telangana High Court Legal Services Committee, filed report dated 05.12.2022 stating that the matter had been settled before the Lok-Adalat and compromise was recorded between the parties on 12.11.2022.
3. Hence, the Criminal Revision Case is disposed of in terms of award passed by the Lok-Adalat on 12.11.2022, setting aside the 2 judgment dated 20.06.2016 passed in Criminal Appeal No.1085 of 2015 by the XIV Additional District and Sessions Judge cum XIV Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge, L.B.Nagar, Ranga Reddy District, and the petitioner-accused is acquitted for the offence under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act. The respondent- complainant is permitted to withdraw the compensation amount of Rs.40,000/- deposited by the petitioner-accused before the learned VIII Special Magistrate, Hastinapuram, L.B.Nagar, Ranga Reddy District.
Miscellaneous petitions, if any pending shall stand closed.
